My teacher's orchestra (yes, my private violin teacher has her own orchestra, she has that many kids. 30 violins total, 6 violas, 1 to 3 cellos, depending on who's there... i said it was an orchestra. not a balanced one. and she has more students)
played this one year.
At 2:00, the woodwinds have the melody and the violin overpowers them.
then it returns to violin.
this would sound better if if the solo violin was recorded live, by a real violin.
the rest sounds fine.

sounds like a soundtrack.
However, I wouldn't like to be those violins that play the same 6 notes for 1 minute.

It lacks epicness.
in that the cello needs to be doing more than half notes (or whatever the poor cellist is doing) once it picks up, especially at the end
have you heard Irish Legend? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYely-
I-beo
It never builds to what I was expecting, especially for something of Irish style.
(All Irish music has epicness. This one does too, it just needs more)
Needs a wayyy better ending. This is why it's lacking epicness
Author's Response:
in my opinion, not all music requires "epicness" as much as, in this case, to just try to make you dance, thus the jig style. Indeed, I agree my music is definitely not up to par to Robert Kerr's song, yet it's important to remember that olden jigs were often just made up as they go, and thus it's not going to be amazing.
Another thing is that Old Irish bands usually used the bagpipe as a main instrument, in which the bass note was never too exciting and consisted of mostly droning throughout the whole song.
As a composer, it's important to take on more goals than to be but only "epic." Not every good song has to be "big and powerful." I personally find the ending quite fitting, as I'm sure any Irishman would say that traditional music often ends dryly compared to far west music.
It seems that you're most likely a cellist, and most likely in high school... 11th grade i'm guessing? I assure you that no cellists were harmed in the making of this song :] It's all electronic.
The fact that you say "all irish music has epicness" tells me that you have never really heard real irish music.

doesn't sound like a massacre-- those sound crazy.
I think I understand what you mean by a massacre.

The initial theme at the beginning needs work.
at :17 and 1:45, the lead violin just kinda drops out. maybe resolve it? add a C to the end of that.
ending-- eh. it just carries on.
needs to end around 2:19.
with that sounding so much like an ending, its a bit late to introduce a new theme.
Overall, a huge improvement from before-- doesn't sound like random notes thrown together. or give that impression.
:)
Author's Response:
thabks i realy appreciate it. I know what know what you mean about it being kinda drawn out. I was trying to make it longer and add an extra something. You know what I mean?
